Nature Print a Tea Towel with Vegetables and Fruits with Susann Ely at the Textile Arts Center of Madison

Who says vegetables are just for eating? In this fun and experimental class, we’ll turn food into art by using vegetables as printing tools.
Learn simple techniques for creating vibrant prints inspired by nature and the kitchen. We will start the class with a brief demonstration, practice on paper and advance to fabric printing. By the end of the class, you will have a nature printed 100% cotton tea towel, paper prints to use as cards or collages, and instructions so you can continue your food printing journey at home.
All supplies will be provided. You are also welcome to bring additional tea towels from home to print on. Please make sure your tea towel has a tight weave, and a smooth texture for the best results. The tea towel should be white or a very light color. Terry cloth and towels with a bumpy weave will not print well.
No art experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothes/apron that you don’t mind getting paint on.
